Processing a Single Photo
- Drag and drop an image onto the SmartBlur window, or click Browse Files.
- SmartBlur detects all faces and bodies automatically.
- Each detection is highlighted with a colored bounding box.
- Adjust the blur settings as needed.
- Click Save to export.
Batch Processing
Process multiple images at once:
- Click Batch Mode in the toolbar, or drag a folder onto the app.
- Add multiple files or an entire folder.
- Configure your blur settings — these apply to all images in the batch.
- Click Start Processing to begin.
- Monitor progress in the batch queue.
- Processed files are saved to your chosen output folder.
Tip: Batch processing preserves the original file names with a
_blurredsuffix by default. You can customize the output naming pattern in Settings.
Live Preview
Before saving, use the live preview to see exactly how the blur will look:
- Zoom in/out — Scroll wheel or pinch on trackpad.
- Pan — Click and drag the image.
- Toggle detection overlay — Show or hide the bounding boxes.
- Before/After — Press
Spaceto toggle between original and blurred.

Export Settings
When saving, you can configure:
- Format — JPEG, PNG, BMP
- Quality — Compression level for JPEG (default: 95%)
- Resize — Optionally resize the output image
- Metadata — Choose whether to keep or strip EXIF data
Tips
- Higher resolution images take slightly longer to process but produce better results.
- Group photos with many faces — SmartBlur handles 50+ faces in a single image.
- Partial bodies at the edge of the frame are detected when "360-degree detection" is enabled in settings.
