Edit and Review Photos in Pocket

This guide covers SmartBlur Pocket for Android 1.0.4 (build 17). Its photo tools process images on your device. You can edit a photo without a SmartBlur account or cloud-video credits. Your original stays unchanged; the result is a separate copy.

For a first walkthrough, start with Pocket Quick Start.

Choose what to cover

On Home, tap Photo and select an image in the photo picker, or use Camera. If the empty photo screen appears, tap Choose photo. Wait for automatic detection before reviewing the preview.

Use Face and Body to choose the kinds of objects to protect. Open Objects, then tap a detected box or object to switch it between Hidden and Visible. These choices apply to the current photo; they are not recognition of a person's identity.

To cover a missed area, tap Draw, choose Rectangle or Ellipse, and drag on the photo. Tap Draw again to finish drawing. Undo removes the latest change; Redo reapplies an undone change.

Adjust the appearance

The photo editor offers four styles:

  • Soft blur: adjust Blur strength.
  • Pixelate: adjust Pixel size.
  • Solid: cover the area with a solid mask.
  • Stickers: choose overlays, then inspect which parts remain visible.

Under Adjust, use Coverage to expand the covered area. For styles that offer it, Edge sharpness changes how the mask edge blends. Changes update the preview automatically; wait for that update before judging the result.

Accessories and stickers may leave eyes, facial features, or surrounding details visible. Choose the style and coverage that suit what you need hidden.

Extra detection and manual coverage

Pocket Pro adds 360° detection and batch processing. The 360° control adds another face-detection pass and can take longer. Check whether it improves coverage in the photo you are editing.

Automatic Plate detection is unavailable in Android 1.0.4 (build 17). Use Draw → Rectangle or Draw → Ellipse to cover license plates manually. Review the whole plate, including characters near its edges.

Extra detection passes can still miss objects or mark the wrong area. Review every result.

Review, save, and export

Tap Save at the top of the editor to prepare the full-size Result screen. Compare Original and Result, pinch to zoom, and use two fingers to move. Inspect every area you intend to hide.

While viewing Result, select I’ve checked the result. You can then:

  • Tap Save to keep the reviewed copy in Pocket's Library.
• Tap Share to open your phone's sharing options.

To export a saved Library image to your gallery, open it and tap Save to Photos. Allow the requested photo-saving permission. Deleting a Pocket copy does not remove copies already saved to Photos or shared elsewhere.

Process several photos

With Pro, open Home → Batch edit → Choose photos and select up to 50 images. Batch processing uses your saved settings and saves completed copies to the device photo library. Photos with no detected objects are skipped. Stop finishes the current item, then skips the remaining queue.

Batch does not offer individual photo corrections or the single-photo review checkbox. Inspect each exported result before sharing. Open an image in the single-photo editor when it needs a manual correction.

If no objects are found, enable another target or draw a mask. If Save remains disabled, wait for processing and confirm that a covered area exists. For purchase issues, see Account Help; videos use the separate cloud workflow.
