First Launch

When you launch SmartBlur for the first time:

  1. The app will ask how you want to get started — Start Free Trial or Enter License Key.
  2. If you choose the trial, you get 7 days of full access with no watermarks.
  3. The main interface appears with a simple drag-and-drop area for your files.

Virtual Camera Setup

  1. Open your video conferencing app (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, OBS).
  2. In the camera settings, select SmartBlur Virtual Camera.
  3. Open SmartBlur and enable the virtual camera feature.
  4. Your video feed will now show through SmartBlur with real-time blurring.

See the Virtual Camera guide for detailed setup instructions for each app.

Updating

SmartBlur checks for updates automatically on launch. When an update is available:

  1. You'll see a notification in the app.
  2. Click Download Update to get the latest version.
  3. The update installs automatically after download.

You can also check for updates manually from Settings > Check for Updates.

Troubleshooting Installation

If you encounter issues:

  • Antivirus blocking the installer — Temporarily disable your antivirus, install SmartBlur, then re-enable it. Add SmartBlur to your antivirus exclusions.
  • Virtual camera not appearing — Restart your PC after installation. The virtual camera driver requires a restart on some systems.
  • App won't launch — Make sure you have Windows 10 or later (64-bit). Check that your graphics drivers are up to date.
